Yea, guess the reason why i didn't go school the past 2 days. Well actually i had a rather bad stomache going on for the past 2 days so i decided to stay home lol. Later figured out that it was only my stomache having too much gas. =/
Other then that, I sort of figured the post-exam activities were really a bore so, just decided to stay home and entertain myself instead. I dunno bout what my friends' views on this but i didn't want to torture myself lol! =3 It was a added bonus to my decision on whether i should go to school lol! (Sort of tipped the scales though...)
Aye, I just realised how much i had left in the bank made me think i should really go working again. =/ (I won't post the stats, confidential~ xP) So That day on Dan's birthday, i heard over from him about his workplace and i find it sort of cosy. Rather better then working in the hotel as a "Multi-purpose" staff though...(Conjured up that one myself)
Elaborating further on the uses of such a staff was actually decided by the hotel and not the company that was hired BY the hotel. Wierd huh? We were actually trained to just do their waiter/waitress jobs at the banquets, weddings, etc ya? HOWEVER, not onli were the lot of us put to various task of shifting their equipment around, we were also made to set-up and clean-up after the banquet. (I was wondering if that was the hotel's idea of efficiency in manpower usage or what?)Also not to mention the training by the company was 3 hours, where 2 1/2 hours were just pure crap. We were taught by the ppl working inthe offices (Not at the banquets) how to do our job lol! Just imagine the stress i was in on MY first day.....
So My first day AND first hotel was at Pan Pacific near Marina Square. It was a banguet for some company celebrating something.(Sorry but as it WAS my first day, The company gave me a senior working in the company at the same hotel they posted me to as a guide as to how to GET there. (So figured, she didn't teach a thing.....didn't tell me what i should do, where to go, etc etc etc.) Man...would it kill to show me around??? @_@ So, i had to figure out EVERYTHING myself, as to where the bar is, what i should do, how i should do it, tray-holding manner(Yeah.....), even the manner of walk was a issue.(I learnt this one on the spot when i saw my partner do it and my shoes, my dad's, were killing me.....-_-") I was even scolded by the manager.....*Arg....ITS MY FIRST DAY!!??* After all that, my first day ended up crap and i went home sulkingly.....*Great first day huh?* No matter, as time went on, i got used to the workload and intensity of work but i kinda find it enjoyable though. BUT seriously boring...(Contradictive but i think the enjoyable part is when i get my pay... $_$)
Though the job was meant for banquets, we were also hired to do other task like the helpers for companies doing meetings in the hotel on afternoons and such. It's pretty easy task but i'd say becuz time passes soooo slow, it was frigin boring me out. *Banquets were real fast time killers. It was like Whoosh! and its over. Cuz it's sooo busy u don't have time for breaks. =/*
My second workplace hotel, a rather huge jump in class difference, was at Conrad hotel. Also near Marina Square. This one was way better. I had worked for bout 1 week before i came here and it was super good. The hotel would ask whether it was ur first time here and each they would assign a vetern around there to show u around. *Dang, if my first day was here, i'd think i would have a better memory of this job...*I worked way better in this one since i was already affluent to the job requirements. So it was sort of a breeze and this one was a wedding banquet! (In the afternoon..... O_o) But it was really nice! (But in the afternoon.......?) Kinda makes u think of ur future right?
My third was actually some Raffles hotel (I forgot it's name but its the one at Sogo just outside the Cityhall Interchange station) I really got no words for this one. *In a good way*
So that makes up for my work experience so far in hotels. But at least after all that i got my money and i'm glad *NOT* to say i get my own money to spend. *It's becuz of that i overspend....it's just the insatiable lust for unnecessary items especially at the mall....* <<<< Sounds familiar Isabella?
